The Irrigation Department seeks to hire a Project Director to provide effective leadership and support for the successful implementation of the project.
Introduction to the Irrigation Department, Sindh
The department manages a network of canals, reservoirs, and drainage systems, responsible for planning, executing, and maintaining irrigation projects across Sindh. It aims to provide a reliable water supply to farmers, mitigate flooding risks, and improve water conservation methods. The department actively collaborates with various stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and international organizations, to implement innovative solutions for water management challenges.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an HEC-recognized university/institute. Preference given to candidates with a Master’s in Irrigation & Hydraulics, Water Resources Planning & Management, or a degree in Project Management.
- A minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience in project management and the execution of large water, irrigation, or hydraulic projects, including at least 5 years in a senior-level position.
- Civil servants are eligible to apply for the Project Director position and must request a three-year leave from service upon appointment.
- Candidates should demonstrate excellent financial, technical, procurement, and management skills.
- Strong communication skills are essential, with proficiency in information technology.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Urdu required.
Employment Conditions
The Project Director will implement the project following government guidelines and report to the Secretary of Irrigation, Government of Sindh. The selected candidate will receive a salary package and benefits in accordance with the existing policy of the Government of Sindh. The initial contract will be for two years, extendable based on satisfactory performance until project completion.
Retired officers must obtain prior permission from the Government (Establishment Division/Defense Division SGA&CD) without exception.
Requirements
- Candidates must possess a domicile certificate (PRC) of Sindh Province.
- The maximum age for applicants should not exceed 63 years on the application closing date.

Selection Method
The selection of the Project Director will follow the policy of the Government of Sindh, as outlined by the Irrigation Department.
