To support our strategy, the Bank is looking for talented, dedicated, and experienced professionals for the following position in Risk Management based in Karachi.

Group Head / Chief Credit Officer – Retail and Program Lending (EVP)
Reporting To
Group Chief – RMG / Chief Risk Officer
Basic Eligibility Criteria
- Educational/Professional Qualification:
Minimum Graduation or equivalent from a recognized local or international university/college/institute. Candidates with a Master’s Degree and/or relevant professional qualifications/certifications will receive preference. - Experience:
At least 15 years of banking experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role (preferably in retail credit). Candidates with significant personal credit approval authority in major banks preferred. - Other Skills/Expertise/Knowledge Required:
- Strong credit risk assessment skills, including problem recognition and solution structuring for complex credit issues.
- Experience in managing non-performing loans (NPL) recovery and collection.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity in credit/business issues and develop effective solutions.
- Decisiveness in time-sensitive situations, demonstrating good judgment and calmness under stress.
- Strong analytical abilities to develop and implement risk strategies, alongside effective team management skills.
Main Duties Responsibilities
- Design, develop, monitor, and update risk appetite, acceptance criteria, and credit policy for consumer and program lending products, ensuring alignment with regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct quantitative risk assessments to evaluate portfolio behavior and maintain a balanced risk-reward ratio.
- Formulate and implement lending policies for all retail banking products, focusing on effective risk management while supporting business growth.
- Oversee credit underwriting for the retail asset portfolio, ensuring quality and compliance with documentation and loan disbursement processes.
- Exercise lending authority and recommend approvals for deviations from product and credit parameters.
- Design and implement credit underwriting processes for new product launches, ensuring alignment with SBP guidelines.
- Regularly analyze data to identify trends, emerging risks, and potential credit issues within the portfolio.
- Review management information system (MIS) reports to track portfolio performance, adjust product programs, and refine approval criteria as necessary.
- Report portfolio behavior and risk assessments periodically to the Chief Risk Officer and Management Committees.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor teams in Credit Policy, Credit Analytics, Credit Initiation, and Collections and Recovery, fostering a culture of risk awareness.
- Develop and manage end-to-end processes for lending, focusing on quality and efficiency.
- Continuously review processes for retail lending products to enhance performance and improve credit decision quality.
- Collaborate with business and IT to automate credit processes and improve processing speed.
- Develop strategies for managing collections and recoveries, optimizing processes for targeted results.
- Ensure appropriate collaterals are in place for secured lending through regular team reviews.
- Maintain effective communication between policy, risk, and business teams to align risk management practices.
- Guide retail lending product lines on compliance, fraud control, and collection/recovery functions throughout the credit cycle.
- Analyze rejection and cancellation reasons to identify and eliminate process inefficiencies.
- Facilitate revenue growth by supporting new product launches and market segment expansions while managing risks within the bank’s appetite.
- Oversee internal and external audit management, ensuring timely rectification of issues and compliance with standards.
- Stay informed about market changes (political and economic) to adjust policies that affect portfolio health.
