Agriculture Department of the Government of Punjab invites applications from eligible candidates (both male and female) who domiciled in Punjab for contract-based positions under the development project “Mitigating the Emerging Issues of Pesticide Residues in Vegetables and Rice through Capacity Building of Farmers and Extension Agents” as agriculture department latest jobs (2022-23 to 2025-26).

Available Positions

1. Deputy Director (Plant Protection)

• • Number of Posts: 1
  • Qualifications: M.Sc. (Hons.) in Agricultural Entomology or Plant Pathology (2nd Division) from a recognized university, with 5 years of post-qualification experience in Pest Warning & Quality Control of Pesticides.
  • Age Limit: 45 years.

2. Assistant Director (Plant Protection)

• • Number of Posts: 1
  • Qualifications: M.Sc. (Hons.) in Agricultural Entomology or Plant Pathology (2nd Division) from a recognized university, with 3 years of post-qualification experience in Pest Warning & Quality Control of Pesticides.
  • Age Limit: 40 years.

Important Notes

1. No relaxation in the upper age limit permitted.
2. Candidates with relevant degrees/certificates must provide an equivalence certificate issued by the HEC or concerned board.
3. The contract appointments are temporary, non-transferable, job-specific, non-pensionable, and do not confer any right to regularization. Initial contract duration is one year.
4. Retired individuals are not eligible to apply.
5. Recruitment conducted strictly on merit across Punjab, adhering to the rules and provisions of the Recruitment Policy and Contract Appointment Policy, 2004.
6. Applications submitted on the prescribed form (available for download at www.agripunjab.gov.pk). Applications addressed to the Secretary Agriculture, Government of Punjab, 21-Davis Road, Lahore, and must include the project/post applied for, along with a CV, three recent passport-size photographs, and attested copies of relevant documents (including detailed marks certificates, CNIC, Hafiz-e-Quran Certificate, and release orders for ex-servicemen). The deadline for submission is October 10, 2024. Late or incomplete applications not considered, and only eligible candidates contacted for tests/interviews. No TA/DA provided.
7. Candidates may also apply via www.jobs.punjab.gov.pk, but must submit a hard copy of the application form with complete, attested documents to the department.
8. A list of eligible candidates posted on the Notice Board three days before the interview, along with interview call letters. For queries, candidates may contact the Additional Secretary (Planning), Agriculture Department, Lahore, at least two days prior to the interview date.
9. A list of successful candidates displayed on the Notice Board, and appointment letters issued following approval from the Departmental Selection/Recruitment Committee.
10. The competent authority reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts.
11. Selected candidates not entitled to any pay protection.
